We have been inspired by a great desire to not slavishly follow the new trend of Scandinavian noir, but to make a more colorful, exuberant, temperamental, humorous, and sexy series that is not always politically correct.

Synopsis
DICTE is a three-season crime drama series based on the characters from best-selling author Elsebeth Egholm’s crime novels. Set in Aarhus, the series follows quick-witted, courageous, and often stubborn crime journalist Dicte Svendsen.
Dicte Svendsen and her daughter Rose move to a new city in an effort to turn a new page following Dicte’s divorce from Rose’s father, Torsten. But their new home, Aarhus, is full of the ghosts of the past.
But Dicte also has a lot of good things going for her in Aarhus. Her two girlfriends, Anne and Ida-Marie, give her a very warm welcome and there’s a desk ready and waiting for her at the newspaper Dagbladet. Her photographer colleague Bo is also stunningly charming, which is definitely a bonus.
The job of crime reporter is Dicte’s life, and she never gives up, before the story is fully told. This persistence immediately annoys police investigator, John Wagner, especially since Dicte’s methods are ones he won’t and can’t employ – methods he often doesn’t even have the imagination to come up with.
Tempers flare as the two butt heads across the caution tape, but Dicte prevails, either because she simply charges past Wagner without asking permission, or because she has information, he desperately needs in order to solve the case.
